It usually happens the same way. You hit the opener button on your way to work and the door barely budges, or it drops a few inches and stops dead with a loud bang still ringing in your ears. You get out, look up, and see it: a torsion spring split clean in half above the door, or a stretched-out extension spring hanging loose along the track. Now you need a number, and fast, because a garage door that won't open or close isn't something you can put off in a coastal climate where storms roll in without much warning.
